There are many kinds of hearing loops.
There are different kinds loops to answer what can be looped. Each has its specific application and need that it fills. Considerations for these loops are, metal in the area, size of the area to be looped, confidentiality or area of overspill, distance to next looped area, and so on. There are loops to fill all these needs. Each loop type has a specific application. If you have a wood structure that is not too wide a perimeter loop might work. If there is metal in the wall, you have to lay the loop on a concrete floor or above a hung ceiling, you need to go to some kind of array. If there is no specific seating arrangement, you have to go to some design of a phased array. It takes training and experience to know which of these many kinds of loops is best for your project.
